You can probably tell from our new wines this week that we’re focused on summer sippers, white wines and Rosés that are sure to please on your patio and the porch during this heat stretch we have going on.
Dan’s Wine Feature
Chosen by Robert Parker as the best Rosé in the world, Domaine Tempier Bandol Rosé is now available here! The 2019 Tempier Bandol Rosé is undoubtedly one of the world’s benchmark rosés. Dan’s Wine Pick
My pick this week is a new Alsatian 2018 white blend that I think you’ll really enjoy, Dopff & Irion Crustacès is a blend of 90% Sylvaner and 10% Pinot Blanc. While the label depicts Lobster, Crab, Fish and Oysters you need not save this for a dinner as such. My choice is an empty glass and possibly some crudité. We all found this new white very enjoyable and perfect for the kind of weather we’re experiencing, but obviously I’d even drink this crisp white during a down pour. We like new, we like great values and we like great easy drinking whites that bring a smile to your face. This $13.99 bottle hits all the buttons.
FOOD NEWS
We’ve got something new this week to share with you, 34oz Porterhouse steaks. While I’ve long considered getting these they were always a little out of price range. Getting them now for a much better price of $51.99, we brought some in and couldn’t be any happier with these new steaks. Porterhouse is a great combination of a sizeable piece of Tenderloin and a much larger piece of Strip making this the perfect piece of beef to share. Quite thick and a perfect balance of the two steaks makes this something you absolutely want to place on your grill, stop and pick up one of these beauties!
Food Feature of the Week
Ribs! These are the easiest ribs in the world, as they are already cooked and seasoned. They simply need to be thawed in the refrigerator, placed on a warm grill and heated through. Sure I’d sauce them again while warming and then straight to the plate. Last weekend I took them home for a trial and grilled a few Italian sausages and a couple big thick cut pork chops and proceeded to have a mixed grill for dinner, or as some call it, the 3 little pigs. We’ve got them all just waiting for you…
