Check out the events list above as a few things have been added coming up here soon, two of them for which we're taking reservations, so give us a call ASAP if you're interested in either of those. We're trying something different for Oktoberfest this year, so we're interested to see what you think... this weekend, however, we're planning a little trip not to Germany but to Spain with our Weekend Food Special: Pork Cheek Sandwiches. It may sound a little odd to you, but it's a famous dish in Spain, with some calling it the best sandwich in Spain. I personally think every sandwich is the best sandwich, but we'll let you decide. It sure smells good roasting back there. It consists of tender and juicy slow-braised pork cheeks, full of flavor from our top-secret brine, served on a crispy roll and topped with a bell pepper slaw. We got a couple of incredible deals in over this past week, and this is one of them... Graziano 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendocino, California. You may have seen this one on our social media as well because we were so excited about it when it came in. Graziano is "Italian heritage with California flair," an Italian family who moved to the US and started making Italian-style wines in the middle of California. This bottle is the exception. A friend of the family passed away, and his wife asked the Grazianos to tend to the small acreage of Cabernet Sauvignon that he had. And thus, Graziano Cab was born and continues on with this one small plot of grapes. It's rich with cassis, dark berries, and toasted oak with supple tannins, length, and complexity. And as you can deduce, it's small production and exceptional value... normally $24.99 and on special for $14.99.
Wine Pick 🥂
You guessed it... another deal! Ranga Ranga 2022 Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand. This is classic Marlborough, full of citrus, gooseberry, and grassiness. However it's from the sub-region of Awatere Valley sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean and the mountains, making it the driest, windiest, and coolest sub-region of the Marlborough with a long, slow growing season, so the wines are distinct and mineral-driven. Perhaps a French drinker's New Zealand bottle? It is 100% estate-grown Sauvignon Blanc with "a solid core of lemongrass, lime zest, the tang of cut lawn, plus a hint of dried herbs and a touch of Awatere minerality. And it packs a fresh, zingy punch on the finish that makes it stand out from the crowd.",Normally

August is almost over, which really means Labor Day, which really really means as of September the 8th I've been opening the doors for 20 years down here , and before you know it Halloween, the Alternative Dinner, Beaujolais Nouveau, Thanksgiving, Champagne Tasting, Christmas, and then 2027... yeah I'm not going to think about it. Let's just handle getting through this weekend.
