This has been my mantra for the past couple months and this week I just felt the need to shout it out…
Our hours,

WINE NEWS…
We’ve got some new wines for you this week, great value priced wines from Australia, Argentina, Chile, Spain and of course California and the Columbia Valley. Stop in and see what we have new for you this week!
Dan’s Wine Feature
It’s not wine… It’s a one drop and done from Frantoio Sanminiatese Olearia. I have visited this Olive Oil production facility no less than six times and I never get tired of going there. Let’s be honest, we all know that what we buy at the grocery store is not an oil that any self respecting Italian would be caught dead with. Only twice before have we had this oil in the store and now for the third time we have the oil that was pressed only a few months ago, when you talk fresh it can’t be any fresher than this. Pure, unadulterated, fresh oil…something that I haven’t even tasted yet. This oil won’t be here long, if you’ve gone to Italy with Gianni or you appreciate the best of something, this is it. Sure it costs more than what you currently have in your kitchen, but it should. This facility produces oil for a very, very small portion of Tuscany, and they never export because they don’t have enough. This only comes to us because of a very special relationship the Vanni family has with them. $29.99 for what I’m sure will be a true revelation in the world of olive oil for you.
Dan’s Pick
Runquist Salman Vineyard Clarksburg “R” 2018 Petite Sirah is my pick for this week. Petite Sirah is an often overlooked varietal and I just thought it would be nice to showcase this varietal for a change. First and foremost, Petite Sirah's are not just little Syrah grapes… although related it’s definitely not the same. This wine is loved for its extraordinary deep color and full-bodied flavors of blueberry, chocolate, plums and black pepper. Despite its popularity, Petite Sirah is an exceptionally rare grape with less than 10,000 planted acres worldwide, growing mainly in California and for that reason we don’t carry a rack full of them. Jeff Runquist and his winery has been named time and again as the winery of the year and once you get into this $31.99 bottle of luscious red you too will understand why. Maybe it’s time to try something new, different and see what other great wines are out there.

Food Feature of the Week
New in this week is Arctic Char from Iceland, this previously frozen fish has been slowly thawed out and we have some beautiful fillets here for you. For $12.99 a pound, you can’t go wrong. Arctic char has a distinctive flavor, somewhere between that of salmon and trout, but closer to trout. The meat is moderately firm but has a finer flake than either salmon or trout. I just checked the price online and saw we’re basically giving this tasty fish away. We only got in 10 pounds so get it while you can…
