Two great beers to be judged against each other. #3 is back to Athens for their Java the Stout and this will be paired in opposition with #4 Alesmith’s Speedway Stout. Classic brews from exceptional breweries paired against each other for your enjoyment. This is a win, win, no matter what. See you Saturday.

Dan’s Feature

ROSE ROCK… Both the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are our Feature for this week. We brought these wines in a little before Christmas as the perfect pair for a Holiday Gift. Christmas is gone and we keep re-ordering both of these tasty wines and want to share them with you. Both wines from Oregon are only $34.99. Family operated Domaine Drouhin Oregon was established in 1987. Their next chapter there is Roserock, an extraordinary vineyard that sits at the southern tip of the Eola-Amity Hills, in the Willamette Valley.

Dan’s Pick

Durant and Booth Cabernet…. Frederick Durant and Joseph Booth started the first grocery store for Napa Valley in 1904. Hence the naming of this vibrant 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is "harvested in the cool morning hours from vineyards across Napa Valley including the Calistoga, St. Helena and Rutherford appellations, the grapes are hand sorted and undergo extended maceration before aging for 20 months in 30% new French oak. 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Petit Verdot, 1% Merlot. Stop in a grab a bottle for only $24.99. A dark purple in the glass opening with aromas of red cherry, strawberry and mulberry with a suggestion of lilac. The flavors are layered with baked plum, blueberries and mocha with a nuance of spice and a touch of earthiness on the palate. This is a structured and well-balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with fine-grained tannins and a textured finish that lingers."

Friday/Saturday Special

Buffalo Chicken Dip!! Everyone’s favorite, with just the right amount of spice. Slow cooked chicken thighs, shredded and combined with a spicy creamy blend of cheeses. Baked in our mini cast iron skillets and served with crusty bread and crisp celery. Only $9.50

Final Thought

Thanks to everyone who came out last week to support Ben and Anne, it was quite a successful event and having spoken with Anne she was truly grateful for everything we did. New events on the calendar are already starting to appear, keep an eye out for what’s coming next.

Cheers from all of us here at The Wine Merchant
