The Patio is out and the sun is shining... the long awaited spring/summer we’ve been waiting for has finally arrived. Enjoy it while it’s here. We have plenty of beverages and food items to help you take the party outside. Stop in and see what we have to share with you this week!
Wine News
Last week was a big week for bringing in new wines and I’m kind of hard pressed to find many to list. Soon there will be no more 2020 Rose’s which is always a good thing here. Twenty bottles of 2021 Rose’s are about to be complete just in time for Rose’ All Day near the end of May. If you haven’t signed up yet, we still have a few spots remaining for this annual food and wine event next Saturday, so give us a call!
Dan’s Feature
I get it, not quite ready to fork out $89.99 for a bottle of Caymus, well let’s give this a shot…Bonanza Cabernet also created by Chuck Wagner of Caymus Vineyards for $21.99! “This wine is delicious, accessible and enjoyable over a meal. It's made from the “bonanza” of our great state – vineyard sites that hold potential to produce good Cabernet but are often overlooked. Features flavors of luscious fruit, dark chocolate and silky tannins”. Let’s be serious, it’s a second label for Caymus… While it’s not quite as rewarding as it’s big brother, it’s ready to be brought to the party. Open this one up for Ribs and Burgers and you’ll be pleasing everyone at the cook out!
Dan’s Pick
My pick for the week is Cuvee Des Annibals 2021 Rose’ from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of France. Nathalie De Wulf Coquelle crafts this limited production Rose’ from Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault and Ugni Blanc making this a light and crisp wine that lends itself perfectly to lighter fare. Described by the wine maker as having a “bright pink hue which emits floral, candied berry fruits, leading to a palate that reveals remarkably dry peach, tropical white fruits and pineapple. A very brisk and mineral-focused wine to be enjoyed by itself or with all your light fare. Certified organic”. These are the wines that are made for weather such as we have today. Stop in, get a few so you can enjoy these soon yourself.
Food News
Most of the items we are bringing in these days are those that want to be placed on the grill. The freshest salmon & tuna, the freshest hand cut prime strips and ribeyes for what I feel is the best price possible. This week be brought in pre-cooked rib racks- take the work out of cooking and place these on the grill to reheat and enjoy! If you’re like me and the grill is beckoning, grab some of best that we have in house and have a party.
Food Feature
Super Fresh #1 Grade Yellowfin Tuna. This beautiful creature is sushi/sashimi grade and has never been frozen. At $29.99 a pound it may sound expensive but this piece of deep sea goodness is a rare delight for us down here. More than happy to cut tuna steaks at any weight for you. You won’t find this quality or freshness anywhere else and we’re excited to share it with you.

Final Thoughts
Patio ethics is our final thought for the week…(trust me these are all real). (1) Never, ever is it appropriate to call the store from the patio to ask for another drink. (2) Stop in and let us know you’re ready for service. (3) Please, please don’t play musical chairs on the patio and then get upset about your bill because you’ve sat at two different tables and in 3 different chairs. (4) Please DON’T move tables! (5) No reservations will be taken for the patio, and last…(6) Sure, we allow smoking on the patio, but please be respectful to other guests and of course, clean up after yourself. Finally, we really do want you to enjoy the patio so please stop by…
Cheers from all of us here at The Wine Merchant!
