News 🗞
We're busy with some private events this week, so no food specials on the radar for this weekend. We're exhausted after last weekend anyway. However, to make it up to you, we have... a new wine list!! That's right, a new fall/winter wine list at the Bar, going live Friday night. We've been keeping it under wraps, but we've been working on putting together a new list for several weeks. This has been no small feat with changes in pricing and more concerningly the availability -- or lack thereof -- of stock for many items. We've done our best and will just have to see how it goes. Additionally, we have a new Reserve List in the bar as well -- this is the wine fridge in the Bar in which we have a curated selection of wines chilled to cellar temperature and for sale by the bottle with no corkage fee. So come on in and see if you can't find yourself a new favorite. And don't forget... Oktoberfest is next weekend! We've got a few spots left for our German smorgasbord. You won't want to miss it. I'm certainly excited about what we've got planned.

Wine Feature ⭐️
This week's feature is one that surprised us a bit... Anthony Road 2022 Cabernet Franc from Seneca Lake in New York, $22.99 A few years ago, I wouldn't have even considered a Finger Lakes red, but they've come a long way in a short amount of time. If you remember from a few weeks ago when I featured their Riesling, Anthony Road is a family operation. The kids grew up on the vineyard and are now co-owners with their parents, working the vines alongside them. This isn't a full and jammy Cab Franc like some others that we've had; rather this one is lighter, drier, earthier... almost French in style. "Dry, medium-body red with lots of raspberry, pomegranate and cherry balanced by hints of black pepper and dried herbs." I think this is a perfect wine for those in-between fall dishes or around a bonfire on one of these cooler evenings that we've been having. The Finger Lakes have been "up and coming" in the wine world for a while, but this one really does that title justice.

Wine Pick 🥂
Another deal to be had this week with the Tower 15 2020 Red Blend from Pali Wine Company, who's been making some of our favorite wines lately. Tower 15 does not have their own vineyards, but rather they purcahse grapes from small, family-owned producers up and down California's Central Coast. Grapes are hand-selected and blended together to achieve a very precise desired product. This particular bottle contains 42% Syrah, 33% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Zinfandel, and 8% Dornfelder, so you can tell it's going to be a big, bold blend. "Earthy aromas of charred wood... flavors of ripe plums, dried tobacco and lavender play on the palate. Long finish with lingering acidity and warm baking spices." Normally retails at $30, and we have it at a hefty $15.99. Only one case left... I wouldn't wait on this one.

Final Thoughts 💬
Well apparently we need to do lobster rolls again... I thought we had plenty to go around, at least by our normal standards, but we sold out by 3:30. Sometimes you can do everything you can to prepare, but you still get taken by surprise. Hey, that's business and that's life. Thank you to those who came down, and I'm sorry those who didn't get here in time. Don't worry, we're working on a plan for redemption... but first, Oktoberfest!
Cheers from all of us here at the Wine Merchant!
