Store News đŹ
The racks, shelves, and coolers are all full down here. As you know, weâre always trying to make certain we keep in stock that which you enjoy. Sure, we mix it up a bit at times, but there are certain staples that you can pretty much expect for us to have in stock. Come and check out what we have and let us know what we should get.
Wine Newsđˇ
Not a whole lot of new wines this week. I picked up a couple wines to serve as special bar glass pours and bought a lot of expensive champagne... we donât like taking any chances on running out of our beverage of choice. Iâm just very happy to have what we have now because last year, it seemed to be very difficult to procure these special bottles. Either way, weâve got them, and theyâre safe and sound in our coolers just waiting for that special event.
Danâs Feature âď¸
This weekâs feature is a new Duckhorn product from Paso Robles, Postmark 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon. Weâve been following Duckhorn's productions in Napa, Columbia Valley, and now Paso. Duckhorn describes their new Cabernet as âshowcasing the juicy dark fruit and velvety tannins that make the finest Paso Robles Cabernets so alluring, this wine begins with enticing aromas of raspberry compote, plum jam and sassafras, along with oak-inspired notes of vanilla and molasses from barrel aging. On the generously structured palate, lavish berry flavors lead to layers of chocolate and clove, with hints of warm baking spice emerging during a long, dramatic finish.â Duckhorn is one of the producers you rarely question; if theyâve put their name on the label, you pretty much know itâs going to be good. So if youâre a fan of Cabernet, Duckhorn, or Paso Robles, this $25.99 bottle is here to please.
Danâs Pick đĽ
Not just one but two picks for this week! Fritz MĂźller wines came to us last week, and I decided to use both of these bottles. Whatâs unique about these wines are that they're festive and fun, both have a little effervescence, and they are just downright tasty. I mean, theyâre not full blown sparkling, but thereâs just enough bubble to keep you coming back. The RosĂŠ is composed of Portugieser and a splash of Pinot Noir, while the white appears to be 100% MĂźller-Thurgau. These $19.99 German bottles are to be enjoyed in a fun environment, and I would be hard pressed to choose a food group to pair with these besides anything at the tailgate. Front porch, back porch, or anywhere around the house, these wines are fun and enjoyable. Try one out --- on a warm day like today, these are what needs to be home in your refrigerator.
Food News đ
Burgers, bratwurst, knockwurst --- what else could you possibly need for tailgating? Chips maybe, and we have that covered along with whatever you like to drink. Itâs becoming the season, and weâre helping you prepare for it, so stop in for any and all your tailgating needs!
Food Feature đĽŠ
This week and next weâre featuring Prime Demkota hand cut strip steaks. These South Dakota favorites will be fantastic for this weekend and of course next weekend for your Labor Day cookouts. We still have plenty of grillable items, and the next couple of weekends are some of the best to get outside and grill some fantastic cuts. A price of $21.99/lb make these a delicious opportunity because this is the best price Iâve seen in a while for Prime cuts. Come on down and tell me how youâd like them cut, and you can take it from there.
Oyster News đŚŞ
Weâve got Summer Loves from PEI that arrived on Tuesday this week. They have been declared the new âChelseaâs Favoriteâ oyster. Without doubt, these Oysters have the perfect size, shape, and shell. Very easy to shuck and so delicious to eat. So if youâre in that oyster-eating mood, stop on down and throw back a few of these fresh beauties. Just in today, Standish Shores from Duxbury, MA. Standish Shore oysters are raised in Duxbury Bay on the coast of Massachusetts. These oysters are fleshy with a semi-salted taste and sweet notes of butter, and in a pinch, Chelsea will tell you these are her favorites as well. Either way, we have it covered: two different oysters from two different waters, and both are Chelseaâs favorites!

Final Thoughts đŹ
It may be tailgating season, but itâs a bit too hot outside right now. With any luck, the weather will be turning, but either way, itâs still the beginning of fall sports. We appear to be slowly approaching my favorite time of year: Fall! Iâm keeping my fingers crossed that we have a nice, long season... maybe like tomorrow until⌠March 1??? đ¤ˇđźââď¸
Cheers from all of us here at the Wine Merchant!
