News 🗞

News, well there’s not much new news in the wine business to share with you and trust me I’m not holding anything back. We’re always looking for that next bargain, the best deal we can find, I repeatedly ask our sales reps “what’s on close out” that’s my job, that’s what I enjoy doing most…finding something that is great for a price that you can’t say no to. That’s the game I play every day, every week with alcohol and food products, what’s the best deal for you and me. It’s a game for me and one that I like us to both to win when playing.

Wine Feature ⭐️

Not sure if it’s Fathers Day in Italy this Sunday but if it is, il Babbo’s drinkin something from Bolgheri. So…my feature this week is simple Il Fauno Di Arcanum 2022. Just a little Super Tuscan that will go with any and all of the meats were presenting to you this week, be it with a handle or all rolled up this wine will accentuate any item you’re taking off the grill. AI Tasting notes are pretty close to mine, “Expressive aromas of black cherries, ripe plums, and crushed violets, perfectly complemented by subtle hints of sweet mint, eucalyptus, and toasted spices”. Being a blend of, Merlot, Cab Franc, Cabernet and Petit Verdot simply makes this wine a classic Bordeaux from Italy. Lighter in weight but big in flavor with a beautiful dry finish means that when accompanied with anything you’re serving this weekend everyone should be happy and at $39.99 it won’t break the bank.

Wine Pick 🥂

Now if you want to go traditional for this years Father's Day I’m going to suggest one of the “Reputation” Cabernets. Reputation wines are a by product of over production, when a wine maker produces to much wine (as if that could ever be considered a problem) and they do not wish to market that wine they have a dilemma of being taxed on the amount of over run juice they’re holding or they can sell it off to another party. In this case Reputation is the buyer and the juice while they can’t name the winery the bottle simply tells the district and in this case it’s (Stags Leap) so who actually produced too much wine you’ll never know…I’m just here to say this is a bottle that Dad would like as well, prestigious and delicious for a mere $24.99 this bottle will serve nicely with a great tomahawk from down here. I just got an image of a bottle in one hand and a tomahawk cut in the other, hmmmmmm, now that’s a reputation maker combination.

Food Feature

CAB Tomahawk Ribeyes, Tomahawk Veal Chops, Tomahawk Berkshire Pork Chops and seasoned and rolled Babette steaks. Let’s be honest, Dads can be difficult to buy for but what Dad doesn’t want a large portion of meat on it’s own natural handle? It’s Sunday and I can see it now, a favorite glass of wine or a favorite beer standing over the hallowed grill preparing the feast he deserves that is what a happy father's day is all about! Oysters! we got them, riding the tide with Pink Moons, these have been a favorite oyster since early on, they arrive to us fresh weekly and it’s been fun in the last few months seeing the differences in shapes, sizes and colors the come in. They’ve proven to be the perfect oyster and while we always enjoy bringing them in we also like changing it up every once in awhile. Either way when you ask what oysters we have in stock today my response more often than not is “fresh”.
