Store News 🏬

We’re reaching the end of the special order offerings… Wine has a variety of cutoffs, and specialty food items can only be ordered until next Wednesday afternoon. We always want to get in and have on hand everything for you this time of year, so if there’s something still on your list, reach out to us soon and we’ll take care of you.

Wine News🍷

We’re case stacking Gravel Bar Cabernet down here! Rhis is a great bottle from Red Mountain in Washington. Being our bar Cabernet, it's developed quite a following. While it’s been out of stock for quite some time, I’m excited to say that 10 cases of it just arrived today! This $18.99 Cabernet is a great wine to have on hand this holiday season. It’s a definite crowd pleaser, and purchased by the case, the cost would be just over $225. This is a wine that will not only please everyone but will pair perfectly with all the items served during the holidays. Stop in and pick up a few, and if you want to try it first, grab a chair at the bar and take it out for a test run.

Dan’s Feature ⭐️

My feature for this week is the 2021 Leviathan Red Blend. Andy Erickson, the winemaker for Leviathan, has a pretty good pedigree, nudged into the business by none other than Paul Hobbs who helped in getting him his first job with Stag’s Leap. Later, Andy became the winemaker for none other than Screaming Eagle. This big red, a "proprietary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Petite Syrah, Syrah, Petite Verdot, and Cabernet Franc highlight some of my favorite growing regions in Northern California, including Red Hills, Coombsville, and Moon Mountain." The 2021 "reveals distinct aromas of blackberry bramble, black cherry, and chaparral. Savory spices and star anise meld with mineral, graphite, bay, and laurel reflective of our rocky Northern California terrain. With finely structured tannins, this wine is silky and elegant-yet persistent. It is approachable now and built to cellar for 10-plus years." Priced appropriately at $39.99, it’s perfect for this year's Christmas dinner. Pair this with Prime Rib or Beef Tenderloin and you’ll be thankful that you picked up a few of these…

Dan’s Pick 🥂

This week’s pick is from the Argyle Vineyards of Newburgh, Oregon. Their 2022 Bloom House Pinot Noir at $29.99 is a perfect bottle for this holiday season. The first thing you’ll notice is the light garnet color, which makes you think that this will be a bit thin; however, on the palate, this beautifully crafted Pinot will open up give way to "its juicy acidity and polished tannins, which makes for a perfect compliment to any meal. Like the delight that it is, ruby red cherry fades into dark fruit at the edges with hints of rich earthy undertones." We’ve been fans of Argyle for quite a while, but yet we had never had the opportunity to share this one with you until this week. "This vintage showcases the best of the 2022 cool vintage. Bloom House Pinot Noir’s juicy acidity and polished tannin makes for a perfect compliment to any meal. Like the delight that it is, ruby red cherry fades into dark fruit at the edges with hints of rich earthy undertones." We have this available at a price lower than both the winery and the national average. If you love Pinot Noir, stop in while we still have some of these.

Food News 🦃

It’s all about the beef… If you can find a better price than $21.99 for USDA Prime Ribeye, buy it. We still have both Bone-In (we cut it off the bone and tie it up for you) and Boneless. We’ll cut to any size, season and tie them up for you, and have them ready and waiting for your pickup for Christmas Dinner. King Crab… we’ve got 30 pounds. Shrimp, scallops, and lobster tails are here in plentiful supply to make your Christmas or New Year's celebration the best ever.

Oyster News 🦪

Red Beard Oysters from the Eastern end of Prince Edward Island are our oysters for this week. These "oysters come from PEI spat and are cultivated in floating bags for two to three years, then sent to the bay bottom to live their lives naturally among predators and sea-dwelling bottom friends. We say this is where the oyster polishes --- the shells harden and take on their distinctive green hue, and the meat will thicken as the oyster works harder for its food, lending to a richer flavor as well." Flavor-wise, these oysters are surprisingly pleasant, with lingering salt taste as long as a nautical mile. I’m in, just had to bring these in for us to try…

There’s nothing that makes us any happier than helping you plan these yearly celebrations.
