WINE NEWS…

The 2020 Rose’s are slowly coming in, we should be seeing a lot more real soon. With the change in the weather we’ll begin to see a change in some of our new wines being brought in. We’ll always have some new great Cabernets and Red Blends coming in, always check our New Wines below!


Dan’s Wine Feature

This week’s feature is from Stewart Cellars, we normally carry a great wine from this North Coast California producer labeled “Tartan” but this week we decided to bring in their second label “Slingshot” an easy drinking, full bodied and rich Cabernet. Nationally this wine is priced all over the place high teens and mid twenties are the usual, I had to have the price checked to make sure we weren’t giving this daily drinker away, at $14.99 you just may want to pick up a few of these before they’re all gone.

Dan’s Pick

Gerard Bertrand 2020 Rose’ is my pick for this week, one of the two 2020 Rose’s that have arrived. The 2020 release is described as, “soft, pale, brilliant pink with bluish tints developing over time towards more orangey nuances. The bouquet releases aromas of summer fruits, cassis and red currant. Floral notes of rose along with hints of grapefruit complete the picture. The finish is fresh, offering notes of candy. On the palate the impression is fresh and full, with great aromatic persistence and balance”. It’s a beautiful bottle, filled with a 2020 tried and true Rose’ that is appropriately priced at $17.99 and that’s all we need to know, cheers to a new release!

Food News

I know Easter is a month away but we have your dinner all taken care of! This last Saturday we ran a test of what we were considering and to say the least, it was fantastic… Local 1.5 pound Sirloin of lamb, hand trimmed and seasoned to perfection with copious amounts of rosemary, thyme, garlic and of course olive oil. We roll and tie this luscious package and provide you with the simplest cooking instructions ever. You’ll have two sides to accompany, diced redskin potatoes seasoned once again with rosemary and haricot verts (our French green beans). Then to finish this dinner for two off, two home baked Carrot Cake Cupcakes for dessert… We tried everything but the cupcakes Saturday and were so pleased we decided to share the news. This is a preorder Dinner Kit for $49.99, we will take orders now through Monday March 29!




















Food Feature of the Week

It’s the Friday/Saturday Bruch Bag of course, this month it’s ham and cheese croissants! Not your regular ham, cheese or croissant… The ham is from Italy, seasoned and cured with copius amounts of Rosemary thinly sliced in house, the cheese, Roth Kasse Gruyere from Switzerland, Dales Mayonnaise and French Herb de Provence Mustard is combined to compliment fresh Croissants. All of this wrapped gently in foil and ready to be heated in your oven for 10 minutes. Fruit cups on the side, mimosas, bloody marys or alcohol infused fresh brew mocha coffee will finish this bag off. Stop in or call ahead for this new brunch bag and I’m sure your Saturday or Sunday will be that much better.

Final Thought

It’s almost been a year since we closed the bar and the restaurant and while others have reopened we decided early on, to error on the side of caution. That time gave us an opportunity to look back at what we had, what we have done and most importantly where we want to go. This, then being the first revelation that we wish to share with you, we have loved seeing and serving you for many years but we wish to share with all we will not be reopening for lunch. It became clear to us that while we enjoyed having you, the toll it took on the staff and staffing, the costs that had to be absorbed and the losses that were entailed made it quite clear that this would no longer be in our future. Will there be more changes…you bet, but I’ve got to save something for next weeks newsletter…
