WINE NEWS…
So, someone came in last week and bought up all of our feature and pick (thank you) if you missed out on these great wines we have more in this week for you. We’re starting to bring in some holiday reds and are excited about some of our new selections. On a completely different note Breitenbach is back in stock…
Dan’s Wine Feature
Jim Clendenen’s Au Bon Climat 2019 Pinot Gris/Pinot Blanc is my feature for the week, I know it’s getting colder and I pick a great new white wine, why, because we just this week are able to get in some of Jim’s wines. Jim Clendenen is one of my favorites in the wine world and if I was a wine maker I’d be him. Both of us the same age, same undergraduate studies and some simple similarities in how we view life. Jim crafts wine the way he wants, ratings be damned, he makes wine that is French in style but from pampered vineyard stock that he controls. Be sure I will have more wines coming in next week from Au Bon Climat and you can bet I’ll be sharing more with you then.
Dan’s Pick
This week’s pick is Melrose “Parkers Pinot Noir” new to our shelves and coming in at $14.99 may just make this a great grab and go bottle. “The Parker Family invites you to enjoy the wines of Melrose Vineyards. We are located near Roseburg on a bench of the South Umpqua River. Southern Oregon provides the ideal site and cool climate for growing wine. We utilize sustainable viticulture practices along with modern technology to nurture our fruit. We strive for small berries that concentrate our flavors to give Melrose wine a fullness of bouquet body and flavor unique to this vineyard.” This all sounds great to me but the biggest question is how does it taste, for me it’s the perfect bottle for everything. Pizza, burgers, a nice hearty stew or of course all things pork. Stop in and pick up a few and see for yourself.

Final Thought
So the question is, not so much as to whom you’re voting for but rather, did you vote? If not, please do, you still have time and besides being your right, your voice needs to be heard. On to question number 2, whatcha drinking Tuesday night? Stop in and we can help you choose a few celebratory or conciliatory bottles, either way I kinda feel a drink or two or three may be necessary Tuesday evening…
Please, please continue safe practices and please bring a mask when you come visit us at the store.
Cheers from all of us here at The Wine Merchant
