News 🗞
No special this weekend as we've got a large private event tonight, so we're pretty focused on that as well as Huhn in June next weekend. It's looking like it will be a warm and sunny Second Saturday, perfect for walking around downtown and stopping in for some air conditioning and a drink or a bite... especially when that bite is juicy, flavorful roasted chicken. More on that next week, but make your plans now. It's also officially the best month of the year -- Father's Day Month, because why not make it an entire month -- and we will be bringing in Fresh CAB Tomahawks for all you dads out there to grill to perfection, 34-36oz for $75 apiece. Another offering will be something we tried and loved at our event last week, Stuffed Bavette Steak, which is Prosciutto rolled into a Fresh Bavette Steak, then rolled in seasoned Bread Crumbs. Simply slice into 1 -2 inch pieces and give them a quick sear on each side. You can't mess it up. Let us know ahead of time if you're interested in either of those as we will be special ordering/making them. It's also Pride Month in Downtown Findlay, so stop in sometime this month for a special frozen drink and get your Pride Passport stamped.
Wine Feature ⭐️
Since Father's Day is coming up in a couple weeks, I should probably feature some potential gifts for Dad, starting with Argyle 2023 Nuthouse Pinot Noir. This is 100% Pinot Noir from Eola-Amity Hills, a highly esteemed sub-AVA in Oregon's Willamette Valley. Argyle has been making wine in the Willamette Valley since 1987, first pioneering domestic sparkling wines to rival Champagne and later moving to Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs to rival Burgundy. They're sustainable, they're regenerative, they protect the salmon and the bees and all the good things people seem to care about, all while making world-class wines. The Nuthouse Pinot Noir "is brooding with crunchy cassis and deep black raspberry notes. Its mouthwatering acidity mellows the textured tannins and adds a layer of depth, personality and longevity." It received 92 points and could lay down for another 10-12 years. This bottle retails for $68 online, and we have it in at $54.99, which really is a bargain for the man who raised you, don't you think?

Wine Pick 🥂
A fun little pick this week, the Areyna 2025 Torrontes. Now I have to be honest, I bought this wine sight unseen and palate untasted because I realized we hadn't had a Torrontes in the store in quite a while, and it's a unique white that people should try this spring and summer. Luckily we tasted it and were quite pleased. Torrontes is the top white wine grown in Argentina, high up in the Andean foothills, known for it's crisp acidity and floral notes. "A dry, aromatic white with a distinctive salinity. The grapes are harvested from a pergola style, high altitude desert vineyard in the 'Grand Cru' terroir for Torrontes... Aromatic with a tight profile, elegant tension and beautiful citrus notes. Citrus aromas of pink grapefruit and a floral mix. The mouth has a lovely level of acidity showcasing a modern, fresh and unique style of Torrontes." There's a lot of character in this $19.99 bottle.

Oyster Selection 🦪
More Pink Moons this week plus Pleasant Bay. As we all know by now, Pink Moons from PEI are on the smaller side but full of perfectly balanced flavor. Pleasant Bays are from Orleans, MA and are a classically salty Cape Cod oyster, medium in size with plump meat.

Final Thoughts 💬
Thank you to everyone who joined our Rosé All Day at the End of May tasting last weekend. It might have been our most successful one yet and did indeed last all day for many of you... no complaints here, though. We hope you enjoyed all of the wines we chose and bites we crafted and that you sign up again next year. Until our next event...
Cheers from all of us here at the Wine Merchant!
