Turley Juvenile Zinfandel is this week’s feature; we met with Whitney Turley on Monday and once again found her wines to be spectacular. Whereas some we will have to wait for, we do have their Juvenile Zinfandel in stock now at $29.99. Turley “Juvenile is scented of cinnamon toast and licorice with warm red currants, cranberries, warm black berries and cherries with blue fruits and spicy hints. Light to medium-bodied, it has a good core of fruit in the mouth with loads of warm spices coming through, framed by softly textured tannins and juicy acidity, finishing long and spicy”. The fruit used to produce this wine comes from a variety of sources with vine stock ranging from six to twenty five years. Not only were we impressed with Whitney but even more so with this particular bottle. If you’re a Zinfandel fan, this wine is one you need to take home.

Daisy White Blend from Charles Bieler, we just got back from a trade show and once again had the chance to talk with Charles, one of the two behind Charles and Charles Wines and of course Bieler Pere’ & Fils. Daisy is a new easy drinking, summer white comprised predominantly of Pinot Grigio but also with a healthy dose of Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Moscato. We’re talking serious porch wine here, and at $12.99 you might as well pick up a few of these new summer wines.
Final Thought Summer is going fast, it starts with Car Tunes, then Balloon Fest, Hancock County Fair and before you know it’s back to school and Labor Day… But hey let’s be realistic, we’ve got our Anniversary Tasting, Quarterly wine tasting, Best Wurst Saturday, Hogtoberfest and of course our Alternative Wine Dinner. Summer may be slipping away but there’s so much to look forward to…
