It certainly doesn’t feel like fall out there yet. The calendar tells us it is and we are featuring apple cider bourbon in the frozen machine, but it is so nice to still have customers enjoying the 70 degree temperatures on the patio too. Here’s hoping for more of the same…

Wine News
It is that time of year... we are beginning to stock in wines for the holidays. With the anticipated shipping delays and supply chain disruptions, we will do our very best to have the usual suspects, customer favorites, hidden gems and special occasion bottles in the store. But, as always, if there is a special bottle we can track down for you, please let us know as soon as possible. We love a good treasure hunt!
Wine Feature and Pick
This week, we are featuring a red and a white from a store favorite brand: Obsidian Ridge. Many of you have enjoyed their Cabernet and we hope you will branch out with us. The red is their Poseidon Estate Pinot Noir from Carneros, Napa Valley. This wine is 100% pinot noir and is described by the winery as having aromas and flavors of strawberries and rhubarb accompanied by pomegranate, toasted bread and baking spice. That seems like a lot of words to say this is a fruit forward, easy drinking wine with a nice long finish. The white is the 2019 Chardonnay from the same estate and winery. It is described as having a wonderful balance of fruit flavors, including tangerine, lemon and granny smith apple, and finely grained acidity. Again, a lot of descriptors to say we enjoyed this lightly-oaked chardonnay when we sampled it with the sales rep and wanted to share it with all of you.
Food News and Feature
Seafood month continues! We have had several customers come in and raid the freezer for gumbo ingredients. And while we may be partial, our shrimp, langostines and smoked sausages would be amazing in gumbo, jambalaya and so many other recipes! Not to mention, add a slice (or two or three) from one of our loaves of crusty Tribeca Bakery Bread, warmed and slathered with butter… yes, please!
