There are 37 days until Fall and believe me the brewers are on top of it. 🍺

While the Fall beers are already out the harvest in California and the Pacific Northwest is just getting started 🍇…

Hours of Operation

Monday – Saturday

10am to 6pm

Calendar

Sep. 24 - Oktoberfest Dinner (reservations required) — Party on Main St. all day and dine here that evening. This will sell out fast, we already have over twenty spots taken up and want to make sure you’re on that list!

Store News 🏬

The quest has begun for both a new wine list and a new bar menu. Trust me it’s not happening tomorrow but we’re headed in that direction. We definitely realize that it’s time and look forward to bringing you something new. This requires a fair amount of time and effort in rounding up all the new wines and making certain that both our menu and wine list can be supported by our distributors. A new season is coming and we’re all looking for something a little different, so stay tuned and we’ll let you know when we’ll be ready.

Wine News🍷

If history serves me well we should be seeing some post offs and or closeouts. Harvest season is beginning and that means wineries and distributors need to make way for new vintages. I was also pleasantly surprised to find that one of our favorite Gascogne wines is back in stock. It appears that just maybe that we’re getting back to normal in supply and distribution. I’m still keeping my fingers crossed in the meantime.

Dan’s Feature ⭐️

It’s one of my favorite producers this week, the Gorman Brothers from Washington! While our distributor is low on inventory from these guys the bottle that’s usually not available is surprisingly available, their 2020 vintage Zachary’s Ladder! This big blend of Cabernet, Syrah and Petit Verdot is all sourced from Red Mountain. Many know that i’ll pretty much buy anything from Red Mountain, toss in the Gorman Brothers and it’s mine. Tasting notes describe this gem as offering “a cornucopia of fruit, cherry- and raspberry-gummy aromas followed by plump, rounded fruit flavors that show impressive depth, layering and plenty of structure to support it all”. Sure it’s $40.99 but worth every darn penny. I really enjoy all of their wines and can’t find fault in any of them, so while we have a decent supply in house why not visit some of their other labels, trust me on this one these big, powerful, full bodied wines have always been my favorites. Pick up a few and see for yourself.

Dan’s Pick 🥂

Cheap and cheerful is my pick for this week. Entre-Deux-Mers is the land between the waters, or more specifically it’s the land between the Dordogne and Garonne rivers in Bordeaux. So this little Vin de Bordeaux is a blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon and 10% Muscadelle making this that perfect bottle for the porch, patio, tailgating whatever wine and while priced at $10.99 I think you may want more than one. There are plenty of times when you just want a crisp, cold slightly acidic white wine and this bottles just the one. I really enjoy finding wines such as these, they’re the not feeling guilty bottles you can open anytime for any occasion and not feel guilty. Truly an end of the summer bargain that should be picked up soon to enjoy!

Food News

Just when I thought things were getting better prices on Beef began to climb again. It’s a good thing we ordered when we did because prices can be kept the same for this week. There’s really not a lot of new food items this week. We did however pick up a bit of Opilio Snow Crab this week if you’re interested, while not cheap it’s still a tasty treat and these are big and beautiful 8+ clusters.

Food Feature

The best bargain in the store are a pair of Prime Beef Tenderloins, these hefty 7+ pounders are frozen and just waiting to be the star of your next occasion. Sure they’re $23.99 a pound but that’s a far cry from their regular price of $35.99. If you have an event coming up why not secure one of these beauties and while you’re at it toss in a few North Atlantic Lobster tails. While you may not have been able to get to the beach this summer, why not end this summer season appropriately and have an unbelievable surf and turf, to me that’s always the best thing from that trip.
