Beer Tasting
All Midwestern beers this week, all Christmas themed beers…3 from Ohio and one from our neighbor to the West, Indiana. Masthead of Cleveland will be our first with Sleigh all Day. For our second beer it’s an old favorite from Akron’s Thirsty Dog, 12 Dogs of Christmas. Royal Docks of Canton will be number three with their Yuletide. Last and certainly not least will be 3 Floyds Alpha Claus. Truly a Christmas tasting, hope to see you Saturday.

Augustale Castel Del Monte Nero Di Troia Reserva 2014 Italy. This is the Reserva to it’s little sister that we brought in last week. Simply a new varietal that proved to be a wonderful addition, we think you will enjoy this new wine as much as we do. If you’re interested ask for the translation you just might find it humorous…“Castel del Monte Nero di Troia Riserva wines are some of the very finest made from the dark-skinned Uva di Troia grape variety, recently renamed Nero di Troia. They come from Castel del Monte, one of the key wine regions in Puglia, southern Italy, and were elevated to DOCG status in 2011. The wines are generally full-bodied with moderate acidity and flavors of cherry, dark-forest fruits and plums. In the finest examples a dark hint of licorice-like sweet spice adds intrigue to the fruit flavors.

Stewart Cellars Tartan Red Blend 2017 Napa Valley is my feature for this week and at $44.99 it won’t last long. Comprised of Cabernet, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot makes this Bordeaux based blend an exceptional value. This bottle truly drinks bigger than the asking price the winery describes it appropriately as follows, “the 2017 ‘Tartan’ Red Blend has a very deep nose with aromas of dark chocolate, cherries, and plum. The rich, layered flavors of tobacco, blackcurrant, and all spice envelop the palate. While packed with tannin, this red blend has a supple and lush finish”. These won’t last long…
Friday/Saturday Special
We’re going back to our tried and true Cubano sandwich. Smoked pork loin, ham, mustard, swiss cheese and dill pickles all on a ciabatta and then pressed to perfection. Always tasty and always a favorite!
Final Thought
If we don’t have it, I’ll be surprised how we could have missed it. We put a lot of thought into our holiday ordering and believe me we have more inventory in the store than maybe we’ve ever had.
