News 🗞

No, no patio yet... but have you been outside this week? I thought we were going to be swept off the map yesterday. If you were one of the unlucky ones who dealt with flooding, I am truly sorry. We are here with dry floors and a full bar waiting for you... and this weekend, add a pizza special to the list with Burnt End Pizzas. Even if the weather is not drying up, it's warming up, so some barbecue just sounds good. If you aren't familiar with burnt ends, they are caramelized pieces of beef from the flavorful, fatty end of a brisket. I don't want to get into the "who has the best barbecue" debate, but they are a Kansas City thing... Anyway, we're going to take a flatbread, slather some BBQ-based sauce, then top with the Burnt Ends, a double dose of Cheese, some Pickled Red Onion, and optional Jalapeños on top. Serving both Friday and Saturday while supplies last, so spend some time here with us before Easter this Sunday. If you need anything, we have Smoked Spiral Hams, Lamb Racks, and several types of Veal, plus fresh Strip Steaks and Salmon and anything else you might want. We're also more than happy to help you pick out wines to pair with your meals. Whether it be food or wine, we've got what you need to finish off your holiday table (or to bring as a gift if you're not hosting).

Wine Feature ⭐️

This week's feature is a beautiful Pinot Noir that I got at a bargain price last week, the Talbott 2021 Sleepy Hollow Vineyard Pinot Noir. This is a bottle that would pair nicely with almost anything on your table this weekend. Talbott is located in California's Santa Lucia Highlands and, influenced by Burgundy, focuses only on Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The estate-grown Sleepy Hollow Vineyard is the winery's flagship Pinot Noir. With 93 points, "Our flagship Pinot Noir offers elegant, fresh aromas of cola, black cherry and blackberry along with richer notes of vanilla and subtle spices. On the palate, savory notes of black cherry, vanilla, clove and nutmeg meld with raspberry and plum flavors for a soft, mouth-filling texture. Rich, elegant and luxurious, this Pinot Noir has vibrant acidity to compliment a satiny smooth finish with a delightful touch of well-heeled tannins, cinnamon, vanilla and hard spices." The Sleepy Hollow is normally available to winery members only at a price of $60, but we have it for you at $46.99.

Wine Pick 🥂

The perfect little rosé for Easter, The Little Sheep of France 2025 Rosé is this week's pick. As a Monsieur Touton selection, you know immediately that it's going to be good. It's a great pairing for Ham, but really all you need to do is just look at the label to see why we picked it for the Easter weekend. This fresh bottle comes to us from the sun-drenched Languedoc region of southern France, just west of Provence. It too has a long history of producing quality, traditionally-made rosés at good prices, so if you like a Provençal rosé, this will be similar and not even close to breaking the bank at $14.99. Consisting of primarily Grenache and Syrah, this wine "is elegant, with notes of red summer berries and delicate floral notes. Smooth, and beautifully balanced with fruit-forward flavors and hints of grenadine that lead into a refreshing, enjoyable finish."

Oyster Selection 🦪

This week we have Black Points and Pleasant Bays. Black Point oysters are from PEI, small to medium in size and lightly briny with a clean vegetal note, ideal on the half shell. Pleasant Bays are from Orleans, MA on Cape Cod. A little larger, they have a briny saltwater flavor -- "a salinity level almost as high as ocean water" -- with a buttery texture and a sweet finish.
