News 🗞
Yes, you read that right... the Patio is up! Since it is Second Saturday this weekend and the weather is looking up, it seemed like the right time. We've even upped the ante with some new umbrellas, so come on down and take a look, enjoy a glass under the sun. Though with my luck, it will probably rain all weekend... no, don't let me jinx it. That said, with the patio we do have some guidelines we're asking you to respect: 1) If you don't get service within a few minutes, please come to the bar and let us know you're here or what you need. Sometimes it's hard to see you out there. 2) Please don't call us from outside to request something. 3) Please don't move any furniture without talking to a staff member first. A few things to just make everything go more smoothly for all of us. Now, to celebrate even further, we're going to have everyone's favorite Food Special all weekend long, Ahi Tuna Crudo & Sashimi. The Crudo is of course Diced Ahi Tuna with Ponzu, Green Onion, and Everything Seasoning, served with Tortilla Chips, and the Sashimi Plate is sliced Ahi Tuna topped with Green Onions and Everything Seasoning with a Ponzu dipping sauce and Wasabi on the side. Maybe something spicy if we've got it. Diced or sliced, those are the options. Serving Friday and Saturday while supplies last. But don't forget that the bar will be closed on Saturday until 1pm, so time yourselves accordingly.
Wine Feature ⭐️
The feature of the week is a classic Napa Valley Cab, Calculated Risk 2023 Barrel Selection Cabernet Sauvignon, $39.99. Calculated Risk is a small family-owned operation out in Napa, a father and his two sons. This bottle is 100% responsibly grown Cabernet Sauvignon from St. Helena and Calistoga, aged in French oak. The winemaker says it pretty well himself... "The 2023 barrel selection Cabernet Sauvignon is a bold expression of a vintage many are calling the vintage of a lifetime in Napa Valley. The wine shows a deep ruby hue. the nose is layered and powerful, revealing graphite, mocha, and dense black and blueberry fruit. It’s full-bodied yet refined, with a plush, balanced texture. Focused and polished, this wine captures the essence of Napa Valley’s Bordeaux-style elegance — where ripe fruit and spice unfold and the finish lingers long after the last sip." If you are a math teacher or are in finance, or you need a gift for someone who is... you obviously need this bottle. And good news, there is a Chardonnay to go with it.

Wine Pick 🥂
I mentioned a few weeks ago that I got some major deals on some nice wines, and this is one of them: Storypoint 2020 Pinot Noir. "What’s a wine without a story? The experience of a wine should tell you something, invite you to discover new things and be surprised. That’s the passion and motivation behind Storypoint." Storypoint's winemaker Saman Parsa also has a story. She left her native Iran to study Plant Biology at UC Davis, then went on to do research at Stanford before realizing she wanted to be hands-on with her beloved plants in the field. She now uses her scientific knowledge to create the best wines possible. Storypoint sources grapes from along California's North Coast, then ages in French oak. The end result "reveals concentrated notes of blackberry, dark chocolate covered cherries and finishes with oak driven layers of toffee and espresso." This deal was one and done, so grab it at this special price of $14.99 while you can.

Oyster Selection 🦪
We've got Firesides back in this week. These were the fan favorite on Oyster Day back in January. They are a bigger oyster, maybe 3.5", from Crowes Pasture Beach in East Dennis, MA with medium brine, notes of umami, and a sweet mineral finish.

Final Thoughts 💬
Not sure if you're aware, but I spent the past week and a half in Hawaii... yes that's two years in a row, but we went to a different island this time and took the entire family. Lots of sun, waves, sand, blue skies, blue water, and of course loads of delicious fresh food. I might just be an island kind of guy... Just kidding, we all know I'm an Italy kind of guy.
