My feature a few weeks back, Clos Pegase Pinot Noir has been a hit! So as usual in a case like this I tried to purchase all that was left in the state. Unfortunately what I most likely did was raise a flag to an item that was never meant to be sold at that price… I’ve done this before on meat, fish and obviously wine that’s just something I look for constantly, I was however able to bring in one more of these cases at the old price of $21.99. So if you weren’t able to snag a few before you still have a chance and if you did try this great deal now is the time to buy it up!

Round Ponds “Kith & Kin” 2018 Cabernet fell off my radar and I was excited when their regional rep showed up a few weeks ago and reminded us what we had been missing. So I’m happy to bring this under $50 Cabernet as my feature this week. Priced at $39.99 and always at 90+ in ratings makes this a great option for those steaks or burgers you’re grilling up this weekend. Tasting notes describe this wines as, “beautifully complex and soft aromatics of violets, cola, ripe fig and plum linger on the nose. The generous entry opens with bright, ripe blackberry and boysenberry, softening through the mid-palate with black cherry, cocoa, and allspice. Notes of licorice and tarragon on the finish lead to fine-grained tannins that effortlessly round this young, yet so approachable Cabernet”. Sounds like something to me that Mom would love to have this Mother's Day!
A to Z 2020 Rose’ from Oregon is my pick for this Mother's Day Weekend! While I bought all that was available that wasn’t a whole lot, but when you see this $14.99 bottle it’s obvious that it’s cheaper than flowers but probably won’t last as long… Tasting notes as follows, “A delicate, beautiful pale blush color, the 2020 A to Z Wineworks Oregon Rosé greets with strawberry and watermelon aromas overlaid with light floral accents of rose hip tea, orange blossoms and white flowers followed by notes of honeydew, cantaloupe, nectarine, pear, persimmon, quince, applesauce, and zesty citrus”. I’m sure these will go fast so stop in early and snag one as soon as you can.
After crying Wolf in last week’s newsletter I was able to line up some more great deals on Beef, first are the fresh tenderloins we got in this week, while priced at a bargain rate of $11.99lb at an average of 6lbs makes a whole Angus Tenderloin out the door for less than $75.00! If you’re looking for Ribeyes I was able to bring back in Fresh the 24/28oz Tomahawks that I wrote about last week. Beef, Pork or Fish we can pretty much set you up with everything you need for Mothers Day dinner. Stop in and we’ll take care of the rest.

We were excited to have the bar open last Saturday, it was good to see people enjoying themselves on that side of the store. Is it different, yes, do we think you can still enjoy yourself down here, you bet. While closing at 6pm makes it an earlier experience than you’ve been used to, trust me we still have the best wines and beers by the bottle or glass anywhere in town and as a side note the best charcuterie and cheese this side of Italy.
