Store News

Not a great deal to share with you this week, we’re trying to find and feature the best we can get our hands on.

Wine News

Our new Rose’s are starting to come in, we received two just this week. This will become a regular flow and soon we’ll have nothing but 2021’s down here for you. New vintages are slowly coming in as well. Spring is an exciting season for wine. Distributors have to make room for new vintages and many times we’re able to pick up some closeouts that are great bargains. Keep an eye on what we’re bringing in each week so that you can snag something that’s a new vintage or a bargain making way for something new.

Dan’s Feature

Terrazas de los Andes High Altitude Vineyards are my feature for this week. Have I done them before? You bet, and when they fall to the $39.99 price point, I always jump in. Be it their Malbec or Cabernet,

these wines are regularly priced at $69.99 so when I see a drop like this, I always buy. Terrazas produces wines at a variety of price points but these bottles I’m featuring this week are their Grand High Altitude series and are quite delicious. Produced through a French wine company, these wines carry an old world style from new world vineyards. I’ve tasted these wines at all levels and the ones we brought in today are exceptional. I really don’t like Malbec but this one I’ll drink anytime. We’re fortunate to have a few bottles just in this week of both their Cabernet and Malbec, so stop on down and pick one up to have with your Easter Lamb.

Dan’s Pick

Jolie Laide 2021 Pinot Gris from Healdsburg, California is my pick for this week. This wine hails from the historic old vineyard Glen Oaks Ranch which is now part of the Sonoma Land Trust. With its deep rocky alluvial soils, this is home to mostly old vine Cabernet, but Pinot Gris was chosen almost as a sort of rost protection, as it can handle the cold bottom swath of the rolling hillside. The Pinot Gris thrives in its mini micro-climate, sitting near a meandering brook in its gravelly, clay loam soils. Picked early to preserve acidity, crushed and put up for a two day whole cluster cold soak which adds a great texture while lending a beautiful rosé Champagne-like color. Wildly perfumed of charentias melon, stone fruit and bergamot… I’ll be honest, I got stone fruit but have no idea about the other flavors. This organic, sustainable wine is a small lot produced wine by passionate wine makers. We have carried these beautifully labeled bottles for the past few years and believe me it’s not for the art. Sure it’s $32.99 a bottle but hey…it’s Easter. Pick one up and have it on the table for this Sunday’s celebration.

Food News

Supply chain issues took a toll on us this week. No deliveries from one source and only one delivery from the other. There’s always going to be something, but either way we’ll keep the cooler and freezer stocked. Sure, I really want to just fill the store for everything for the grill but whenever I’m ready to do that the weather isn’t very cooperative. We’ve got some great super fresh fish and prime steaks always ready for you down here no matter what the supply chain is like.

Food Feature

Who wants Prime, Prime Rib for Easter? I’ve been waiting for someone to come in and ask me to cut one of our Prime Ribeyes… If you’re not doing ham or lamb, why not a Prime Ribeye or better yet a prime Rib to carry you through this Sunday’s special dinner. With this fresh cut you can have it either way and at $22.99 a pound it’s well worth the price for a great dinner.
